There are two key stakeholders behind this question. The first is the head of the internal consulting team, who is often frustrated by the inflexibility of the organisation. They are probably an ex-”big” consultancy leader and suddenly find that all is not what it seems. Fortunately there is hope…….
The second stakeholder is the CEO or more likely the COO who has calculated the savings that a £50K per year internal consultant can save the business compared to £1000 per day external consultant. Unfortunately in this business you get what you pay for (there are of course exceptions to the rule).
Our role is to bring both stakeholders back towards the ideal position.
