Business creation with biomimetics

“Business Biomimetics is the broadening out of the Biomimetics concept to include solving the problems associated with business strategy. We have developed a number of models and processes that allow business leaders to examine a business problem and identify aspects of biological systems that can help them think differently about their problem. It also helps identify a richer set of ideas and then develop a change plan to deliver a new strategy. All of this work is underpinned by research into biomimetics at the University of Bath and has been applied to a range of businesses from the Ministry Of Defence to FMCG.”

Phil Richardson founded the business transformation consulting company Thoughtcrew with a goal of “Breaking through current thinking using biomimetics to solve management challenges”. He presented “Business Creation with biomimetics” at BIONIS 2007 and posts on biomimetics in his weblog.
